I was browsing pinterest and I came across this great list of 50 rules for Dads of Daughters..
Take a minute and go read it.
I'll wait.
It made me cry a little bit.
Not because I highly doubt Chanel's real father will pull through on any of those (In fact he's already missed her birthday. She talks about it ... a lot. )
But because even though Chanel isn't Rick's biological daughter he is already more of a father to her than her "real dad" has ever been.
He dances with her.
Spends time with her.
She gets excited for him to come home every night.
She calls him "Rick-Dad" and occasionally just "Dad".
He teaches her things.
He does so many things and I am not sure if he realizes all of the wonderful little things he does for her.
But most of all- he is there for her. Always.
Some people could learn a thing or two from him.
Cute picture time?
Yes.

Dr. Laura calls non-existent biological fathers "sperm donors", because that was the extent of their involvement in their children's lives. For all intents and purposes, it sounds like Rick IS daddy to Chanel, and she's lucky she has him :)
